Why We Ask for Sources
π Part of what makes Alo Index unique is our belief in zero-party data, which is a fancy way to say property-level. By verifying hotel claims, we build trust and transparency in the process and results.
How Many Responses Require Sources?
π It depends on your hotel activities. It could be as many as 38, or as few as 2.
What Can I Use As a Source?

Photos of on-property sustainability in action: beehives, roof gardens, vegan menus, local artwork, staff cafeteria, water bottle filling stations, compostable food service items
Public facing media or documents that show your environmental, social, and governance practices
Screenshots of utility bills, company intranet posts, social media posts from your official channels
What Kind of Information Should My Source Document Contain?
Hotel Name
Date (can be as general as a year, depending on the source)
The answer to the question you're verifying π
OK, What SHOULDN'T I Send You?

Personal photos you don't have permission to share
Brand or chain level marketing statements that do not specifically mention your hotel by name
Expired certifications
Menus without your hotel name
